Will I be able to get event pokemon from the Mystery Gift function via Wi-Fi?

I think you will be able to get mystery gifts via wifi, If you cant then whats the point of having the option to search for one via wifi.

It's for getting event Pokemon like Deoxys, Jirachi, and etc.

Actually, Deoxys, and etc. actually once you have unlocked a certain place where each legendary lives, you go there and you battle, and, well, good luck!

So are the mystery gift pokemon only available during one of the conventions?

Pokemon Fire-Red when you have two GBAs with you and two wireless..

No, you can not get event of Pokemon because it is used in conjunction with the infrared port on top of the Game Boy Color to communicate with other Mystery Gift-enabled games to give other players room decorations or items. Mystery Gift can only be activated at the Jubilife City TV station in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Players are able to receive gifts wirelessly, from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or from a friend. The Mystery Gift feature will only allow a specific gift to be received once not shows any event.
